Schism
I chose to dispense with the babblings of organised
religion.
Now I knew that I could choose my own way, that is what I did.
I decided to follow the promptings of my own heart, to
believe in myself. And belief in myself is all that I would need
in the shallow world of commerce and industry.
I still do not believe that there is a battle going on in the world.
I do not believe in good and evil and that man chooses between them.
I have returned to my life, taken up the threads of all that I
abandoned for this quest which now seems so silly and high-minded.
And one night, when the sky was dark with thunder,
and the darkness came,
I was unprepared.
I was terrified.
